1830 Built by Hugh & Kenneth MacAskill
1880-87 Renovated
1898 Merger to form Dailuaine-Talisker Distilleries Ltd
1900 Distillery expanded
1925 Distiller Company Ltd (DCL)
1928 Ceased triple distillation in preference of double distillation
1960 Partially reconstructed after fire
1972 Traditional maltings knocked down
1998 A new mashtun and 5 wormtubs are installed
2004 Two new bottling are released – an 18 and 25 year old
2008 Talisker 57 degrees north and 3rd edition of the 30 year old are released
2013 Talisker Storm, Dark Storm and Port Ruighe launched
2013 £1m upgrade to visitor centre

Talisker Distillery Comments
Only Single Malt distillery on Skye.
Mentioned in a Robert Louis Stevenson poem written in 1880, 'The Scotsman's Return from Abroad' The king o' drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Islay or Glenlivit.

Tours: 10.30, 12.00pm, 2.00pm & 3.30pm
April - June Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm
Open Easter Sunday 24th April 11am - 5pm
Sundays from 19th June 11am - 5pm.
Tours throughout the day.
July to August Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm Sundays 11.00am - 5.00pm

September to October Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm

Comments April to October last tour at 4pm.
