Ardnahoe Distillery History
2018/19 Ardnahoe is a truly family business led by Stewart Laing and his two sons Andrew and Scott. The Laing family have been involved in the Scotch Whisky industry for generations and Stewart began his distilling education at the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay. His affiliation to Islay was a significant motivation in the creation of the new distillery on the island. Work began on the Ardnahoe site in late 2016 with first distillation in October 2018 and first cask fill in November 2019.

Ardnahoe Distillery Comments

The owners describe the distillery as modern by design yet traditional by method and values with the objective of producing a flavour profile that is sweet, smoky, peaty, spicy and smooth. Ardnahoe Distillery takes its name simply from the location in which it is set. Ardnahoe is Scottish Gaelic for “Height of the Hollow” which perfectly describes the beautiful setting in which the distillery lies.
