1976 Taken over by Allied Brewers (now Allied Distillers)
1999 Rare Single Malt distillery release at 12 Years Old to mark the centenary of Ardmore
2002 The distillery stops using direct heating
2005 Taken over by Fortune Brands Inc.
2008 Ardmore Traditional Cask single malt launched

Japanese group Suntory purchased Fortune Brands and merged the Beam and Morrison Bowmore businesses and now trades as Beam Suntory.
