"The Mash Tun, owned and run by Mark & Karen Braidwood, is situated in the heart of the Malt Whisky Trail in Speyside. It is a great base for touring the large number of local distilleries and taking in the beautiful scenery that Aberlour and Speyside has to offer. The Mash Tun is located in a quiet and picturesque spot next to the famous River Spey and is home to a large selection of Scottish Malt Whiskies including the full Glenfarclas Family Cask Collection which is only available for sale by the dram in three places in the world; The Mash Tun in Aberlour, Bar Nemo in Tokyo and The Malt Vault in Singapore.
Food is freshly prepared and sourced locally where possible. Mark and his chef, Nick Davis are passionate about Scottish contemporary cooking and you will find The Mash Tun Menu a treasure trove of fantastic flavours.
Four Luxury Rooms, The Glenfarclas, The Glenfiddich, The Macallan and The Glenlivet, and also a Luxury Suite – The Aberlour, ensure your overnight accommodation is enhanced with a whisky theme. Beautifully decorated throughout and named after local distilleries these rooms are all en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities as well as television. A roll top bath enhances The Glenlivet Room, and all rooms enjoy spectacular views over the River Spey. The Macallan Room, which follows the curve of the building, looks towards Easter Elchies House – the original home of The Macallan Malt Whisky.
